Meet the Team: Mar Martin-Richardson

Hi There! I am Marilyn Martin-Richardson, but you can call me Mar. 

I was Born and raised in Southern California and moved to Arizona in 1994. I absolutely love AZ! After 30 years of working in the defense industry, I finally retired in 2021 (YAY for retirement life in Oro Valley!) My favorite quote is, “Never blame anyone in life, good people give you happiness, worst people give you a lesson, best people give you memories!”

I am blessed to have married my best friend, Dan. We have been married for 19 years! I’m a PROUD mama of two amazing sons who always make me laugh, encourage me to explore the world, and amaze me with how kind and giving they are to all humans. I am also a mama to one super senior fur baby named Henrietta.

My hobbies include traveling across the USA in our Class A coach..aka Glamping! I love exploring historical old towns, discovering unique shops and meeting interesting people along the way. I also enjoy spending time at home sewing, painting and constantly changing things up in our home. And if you are wondering, yes,  I do drive my hubby crazy with all the changes I’m constantly making with decorating the house!

I absolutely love everything decor related! Surrounding myself with things that make me smile and tell my story fill me with tremendous happiness. Helping others do the same for their home is enormously gratifying. I am so grateful to be part of the Nest in the Desert family. It truly is a dream come true for me. My favorite colors are black and white with a splash of any bright color. My style is eclectic (I like to mix things up), and my favorite places to shop are small businesses like Nest in the Desert!
