Oro Valley's Mayor, Joe Winfield, visits local home decor store in Oro Valley Arizona

The Mayor of Oro Valley, Joe Winfield, is a dedicated community supporter and does an excellent job being involved in the local community and investing his time and efforts; he truly cares about community and local businesses. He says this, “I visited some local businesses yesterday including Nest in the Desert where things are looking very festive. Co-Owner Robin Halperin said they have a lot of new items to help you personalize your home. Have you had a chance to visit their store?”

Mayor Winfield has many accomplishments during his first term, such as: bringing high paying jobs to the Oro Valley community, orchestrating 200+ bags of litter being picked up by 200+ volunteers along Oracle Road and established a positive presence and collaboration with the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce President, town staff, and local businesses to name a few. This endeavor resulted in improved relations between local government and businesses while increasing new business by 12% - 30 new businesses opened in Oro Valley.

Those are all superb accomplishments, but one hit close to home was his visit to our store, Nest in the Desert, on November 29, 2022. It was an honor to say the least! To meet him and talk with him about local business and the community was very special and we appreciate it so much that he took the time to choose our business for a visit. We gave him a personal tour around our establishment to see all of our unique and beautiful items for the winter season and beyond.

Mayor Joe Winfield’s His love of community is evident with his proactive stance on local business and the health and vibrancy of a local community. “…he has served on the committees for the 2006 and 2016 Oro Valley General Plans; served as Vice-Chair of the Oro Valley Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and Chaired the Oro Valley Trails Task Force. Joe served as president of the Catalina Homeowners Association and gained a reputation for integrity and fairness among the 400+ homeowners.”
